Specify the WINS Port Number (Windows 95/98/Me)

This setting allows you to specify an alternate port number to use with all WINS name queries and registration requests.

Open your registry and find the key below.

Create a new DWORD value (or string value for Windows 98) called "NameServerPort" and set it to equal the required port number, the default is 137.

Restart Windows for the change to take effect.

Settings:
System Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\MSTCP]
Name: NameServerPort
Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Value: (Default = 137)
